Oct. 2, 2023, 9 a.m. Oklahoma Energy Auditor-3-Part Session Registration
*Week One-Monday, October 2nd-Friday, October 6th 2023* *Week Two-Monday, November 6th-Thursday, November 9th 2023* *Week Three-Monday, November 27th-Friday, December 1st 2023* Energy Auditor training will provide the groundwork for new/existing weatherization workers interested in understanding and expanding their knowledge of weatherization. Topics covered in this course include “House as a System”, “Energy Movement”, “Calculating Envelope Energy Loss”, and much more. The curriculum for this course is aligned with the NREL Job Task Analyses (JTAs). This training session is primarily in class with additional technical training in advanced blower door diagnostics, a review of current installation methodologies, and combustion safety instruction. Class participants will also get actual in-field training performing an energy audit. A knowledge quiz will be given after each module and students will be required to pass a final exam on the last day of training to receive a certificate of completion.
Oct. 10, 2023, 9 a.m. Crew Leader Comprehensive-October 10th-October 13th Registration
Comprehensive Wx Crew Leader / Installer Training (4 day course) is focused on learning basic weatherization processes, policies, and requirements based upon ODOC, DOE, BPI, and OSHA rules. Upon 80% successful scoring of the final exam for this course, a "Certificate of Completion" will be mailed to the registrants. CEU's will be gained through this course, which are valid towards BPI National Certification requirements for continued education. *Cost for this course per person is $1,995.00*
Oct. 19, 2023, 9 a.m. Healthy Housing Principles-October 19th - October 20th Registration
Healthy Housing Principles prepares energy auditors and other home energy professionals to assess and characterize home-based environmental health and safety hazards by integrating qualitative observations with quantitative diagnostics to determine and prioritize recommendations that address existing and potential hazards. The course also covers how to communicate the identified risks and hazards to the occupant with the goal of improving health and quality of life. *This course per person is $650.00* *This course is limited to 8 participants*
Oct. 23, 2023, 9 a.m. Air Infiltration & Insulation-October 23rd-October 24th Registration
Air Sealing is a rigorous, one-day course emphasizing the importance of effective air sealing within the Weatherization Assistance Program. Focusing on known techniques and theory we will examine and implement how to detect air sealing opportunities and common leakage sites, determine appropriate tools and materials needed for air sealing, discuss air sealing guidance and best practices, and verify that an effective air barrier has been established. Cost per person $1000.00
Nov. 1, 2023, 9 a.m. CAZ/ASHRAE/IAQ-Nov. 1st--Nov. 3rd 2023 Registration
ASHRAE develops and publishes its standards so that AC and refrigeration professionals have access to up-to-date procedures when testing, installing and designing hardware. They also provide consistent terminology and information for HVAC professionals. CAZ stands for Combustion Appliance Zone and it is the area that your water heater, furnace, wall/floor heater, and/or boiler is located as well as your gas fireplace, gas stove, gas oven, gas broiler, and even your gas dryer to a lesser degree. CAZ testing by a trained technician to make sure these gas appliances are working safely. Cost per person $2000.00
