Dec. 6, 2023, 8:30 a.m. RRP Initial Renovator Course-December 6, 2023 Registration
This Lead Renovator RRP Initial Certification course is 8 hours in length and includes approved lead safety training and the required certification exam. Any contractor performing qualifying renovation, repair, or painting (RRP) work on pre-1978 homes or child-occupied facilities must employ at least one Certified Renovator who has successfully completed this training. *Cost for this course per person is $400.00*
Dec. 7, 2023, 8:30 a.m. RRP Refresher Renovator Course-December 7, 2023 Registration
This Lead Renovator RRP Refresher Certification course is 4 hours in length and includes approved lead safety training and the required certification exam. Jan. 10, 2024, 9 a.m. Building Science Principles-January 10th - January 12th Registration
Building science demonstrates how various components of a home interact to affect the home’s overall performance. Understanding the relationships between the building envelope, heating, A/C, insulation, mechanical ventilation, lighting, appliances and other systems of the home will enable you to assist yourself and others. Learn how these systems affect the comfort, health, and safety of occupants and the durability of the home. Discover why improving the home's energy efficiency should be the first step toward solar, geothermal, or other renewable energy improvements. *The cost per person for this course is $500.00* *This course is limited to 8 participants*
Jan. 22, 2024, 9 a.m. Building Analyst Technician-January 22nd - January 26th Registration
The BAT provides detailed learning and practice of building inspection, data gathering, diagnostic testing, energy conservation measures, HVAC systems and health and safety inspections. Upon completion of this training class, students will challenge a 4-hour proctored field exam in order to gain the BPI Building Analyst Technician certification. *Prerequisite: Building Science Principles Certificate* BPI Building Analyst Technicians must recertify every three (3) years. The cost per person is $1,925.00
Jan. 29, 2024, 9 a.m. Building Analyst Professional-January 29th- February 2nd Registration
The BPI Building Analyst Professional (BA-P) is an advanced certification for home performance professionals. A BA-P is a certified Building Analyst Technician who also conducts energy modeling, building analysis, and data evaluation in order to provide a comprehensive report with a list of prioritized home performance recommendations. The BA-P certification is earned by passing an online written exam. An active Building Analyst Technician (BA-T) certfication is required for BA-Ps. *Prerequisites: Building Science Principles Certificate* BPI Building Analyst Technicians BPI Building Analyst Professionals (BA-P) must recertify every three (3) years. The cost per person is $2,000.00
Feb. 7, 2024, 9 a.m. Quality Control Inspector-February 7th - February 9th Registration
Quality Control Inspector certification, you prove that you can verify the compliance of retrofit work performed based on work plans and standards, conduct audits and inspections using diagnostic equipment, and can develop reports that specify corrective actions to achieve whole-house performance. *Candidates must be Energy Auditor certified and successfully challenge the QCI online exam to become Quality Control Inspector certified* BPI Quality Control Inspectors must recertify every three (3) years. The cost per person is $795.00
Feb. 15, 2024, 9 a.m. Advanced Pressure Diagnostics-February 15th - February 16th Registration
Participants in this class will learn to be the ultimate air leakage sleuths by practicing pro-level skills for balancing heating systems, solving air leakage mysteries, and avoiding combustion. This will be an intensive 16 hours of manometer mayhem that will help participants perform audits, lead crews, and do Quality Control Inspector (QCI) inspections at a new level. *The cost of this course is $575 per person*
Feb. 22, 2024, 9 a.m. Air Sealing & Insulation-February 22nd -February 23rd Registration
Air Sealing is a rigorous, one-day course emphasizing the importance of effective air sealing within the Weatherization Assistance Program. Focusing on known techniques and theory we will examine and implement how to detect air sealing opportunities and common leakage sites, determine appropriate tools and materials needed for air sealing, discuss air sealing guidance and best practices, and verify that an effective air barrier has been established. Cost per person $1000.00
Feb. 26, 2024, 9 a.m. BPI Energy Auditor- February 26th - March 1st Registration
Energy Auditor will inspect buildings to assess current energy use then make recommendations to The Energy Auditor course provides in-depth information on energy audit terminology, principles, and skills for calculating cost-effective building shell retrofit strategies and generating work orders. The course follows the Department for Energy's standardized curriculum for Energy Auditor - Single Family and has been modified to align with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) Job Task Analysis for an Energy Auditor. The structure of the course includes lectures, discussion, and practical experience through hands-on skill sets. *Does not include certification exam* *Does not qualify for Oklahoma Energy Auditor certification* The cost per person is $3,000.00
