Housing is an essential need for every individual. But those who advocate for and assist the working poor, the displaced, or the homeless have seen that finding a safe, decent and affordable dwelling can be one of the most difficult impediments to achieving self-sufficiency.
Community Action Agencies have developed into the major community housing development organizations in Oklahoma. However, note that not all programs are available in all counties.

Weatherization Assistance Program:
Weatherization activities result in energy savings for income-eligible individuals by providing energy-related home repairs and other modifications to their homes.
Other Housing-Related Services and Programs:
Homeless Services – Assistance to the homeless in the form of temporary shelter and/or food, clothing, medical care and other assistance.
Transitional Housing – Low cost housing provided for individuals and families who have located employment, but are not yet able to acquire housing on their own.
Group Homes – Low cost independent living quarters for people with disabilities who need some level of assistance to live independently.
