CAZ stands for Combustion Appliance Zone and it is the area that your water heater, furnace, wall/floor heater, and/or boiler is located as well as your gas fireplace, gas stove, gas oven, gas broiler, and even your gas dryer to a lesser degree. CAZ testing by a trained technician to make sure these gas appliances are working safely. April 16, 2026, 8:30 a.m. RRP Initial Renovator Course- April 16, 2026 Registration
This Lead Renovator RRP Initial Certification course is 8 hours in length and includes approved lead safety training and the required certification exam. Any contractor performing qualifying renovation, repair, or painting (RRP) work on pre-1978 homes or child-occupied facilities must employ at least one Certified Renovator who has completed this training. *Cost for this course per person is $400.00* RRP Cancellation Policy Cancellations less than 48 hours before the class begins will receive no refund. Cancellations more than 48 hours before the class begins will receive a full refund minus a $50 administrative fee. Refunds will be provided within 10 business days by the same method of payment used to register for the course.
May 5, 2026, 9 a.m. Crew Leader Comprehensive- May 5th - 8th Registration
Comprehensive Wx Crew Leader / Installer Training (4 day course) is focused on learning basic weatherization processes, policies, and requirements based upon ODOC, DOE, BPI, and OSHA rules. Upon 80% successful scoring of the final exam for this course, a "Certificate of Completion" will be mailed to the registrants. Course Description: Weatherization Health & Safety This course equips weatherization professionals with essential skills to identify, assess, and mitigate health and safety hazards in residential buildings. Grounded in building science and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Assistance Program guidelines, the training focuses on occupant health, safe work practices, and practical diagnostic testing. Key Highlights: - Combustion Safety: Perform worst-case CAZ depressurization, flue draft testing, and carbon monoxide (CO) measurements. - Indoor Air Quality: Calculate ventilation rates to comply with ASHRAE 62.2 standards. - Environmental Hazards: Recognize lead, asbestos, mold, and radon indicators to execute safe work scopes or clear deferrals. - Worker Safety: Master OSHA standards, personal protective equipment (PPE), Lead-Safe Weatherization (LSW), and confined-space entry. Nov. 2, 2026, 9 a.m. Crew Leader Comprehensive (11/2-6/26) Registration
Supervises the retrofit activities specified in the scope of work. The Crew Leader interacts with the client and manages personnel and materials on the job site in a safe and effective manner. Additionally, the Crew Leader is responsible for quality control, testing procedures, documentation, and conducting a final walk-through of the job site to ensure all work is completed in a satisfactory manner. Upon 80% successful scoring of the final exam for this course, a "Certificate of Completion" will be mailed to the registrants.
